1.What is 1 beauty product you cannot live without?
Care less. And I mean this in the nicest way! For a long time, I cared about anything and everything – to the point that perfectionism became an obsession and if anything went wrong, it felt apocalyptic! Not only is caring about all things all the time unsustainable, it’s a poor way to spend our precious energy. Let’s remember to save our energy for the things that truly matter!
2.If you had to do over anything what would it be?
When you approach someone and they ask you “What’s up?” in a tone that makes it seem like you’re really bothering them! Cringe. It immediately makes me want to exit the conversation and find my answers (or socialize) elsewhere! These experiences reinforce a core value: caring for others. That’s why I am intentional about creating a space where others feel welcome. When you carry an aura of approachability, people know they can count on you!
3.Who would you love to meet and why?
By making sure my calendar looks like a rainbow. It’s the best way to remind my brain that it’s time to switch gears from the left side to the right side. STEM engineer by day, STEAM queen by night!
4.Favorite vacation?
There is nothing that quite relaxes me like some gym time! I absolutely love exercise and lead a very active lifestyle. My favorite activities allow me to socialize and have some friendly competition with both myself and others! My top fitness moments include finally getting side crow, leading my own Zumba class, running through the snowy trails of Colorado, and graduating from the kiddie pool to the adult pool as a self-taught swimmer!
5.What do you normally eat for breakfast?
I’ll let 7-year-old me answer this question: To float among the stars someday, of course!! While it would be an incredible honor to journey to space and walk on another planet, I truly admire how astronauts carry the dreams of humanity forward. They helped little Arjumand believe that she could touch the stars someday, and that’s why my mission is to inspire the next generation of explorers to believe they can, too!
