1.Words I live by are:
“Find what you like and like what you see.” Changing my mindset by looking for the positive in things helped me cope with the challenges of working as a frontline nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic. Practicing mindfulness, meditation, and breath work is something I continue to do today, and it has helped me become more resilient over time. This positive mindset helps me like what I see in my life every day!
2.What are your pet peeves?
People who don’t have courage. Having the courage to keep moving forward despite fear helps prevent small problems from becoming even larger problems in the future. People often perceive modern everyday stressors as threats and their bodies can go into fight or flight mode to protect themselves from perceived danger. Learning how to calm your nervous system and regulate emotions will help bring clarity during stressful moments and will give you courage to push through!
3.How do you stay organized?
I am mindful of the things that I say yes to because time is a resource that you can never get back. Everything I do goes in my Google calendar, and I keep a digital planner with me wherever I go. Making sure there is enough time to be fully present and live in the moment shows me the joy and beauty in everyday life and helps me be the best titleholder I can be.
4.How do you relax?
My self-care routine involves taking care of my mind and body. I enjoy immersing myself in nature, meditating, exercising, applying skincare, and spending quality time with loved ones. Reflecting on the day and practicing gratitude helps me stay grounded and keep an overall positive outlook on life. When outside, I enjoy feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin and I love going on walks with my twin dogs. Wellness really does win!
5.What is your dream job and why?
Being hospitalized as a child sparked my interest in healthcare because I was fascinated learning about all the ways science and technology can be used to help people heal from illness. As a nurse, the best part of my career and dream job is seeing my patients recover and thrive. I will continue to use my platform “Wellness Wins!” to educate and empower others to make healthy lifestyle choices, hopefully as the next Miss International.
